Almost, But Not Quite

I went to sleep last night feeling excited for this morning. We were going to go help at the Crossroads again (or so I thought)! I woke up this morning and prepared to be picked up from our house to go to the Crossroads. Later, I called my mom (to make sure of the plans for the day) and found out that we weren't going to the Crossroads! She explained that there wasn't much work to do today, so we weren't needed much. Oh well, there's always next time.

First Day of Summer (Yesterday)

I hope everyone had a good a first day of summer yesterday (it was the first day of summer in the USA). We went biking and then played basketball. The Lord gave us a beautiful evening to enjoy ourselves as a family. Enjoy the rest of the summer everybody!

Helping the Community Through the Church

Today, I helped at my church's Crossroads. It's a building at our church that is full of food and clothes, and a bit of home things (like decorations such as vases). Our church collects clothes and canned food for the needy. We give it to the needy for free. I think it's a great way how to help out the community in Sachse, TX (the city my church is located). My little brother's Sunday school teacher invited us to help out. We sorted out food and clothes, moved boxes and hung up clothes. It was a nice feeling. I really want to come on Saturday morning so I can help give the things away, instead of just sorting, though either one is helping others.

6/16/13 - Happy Fathers' Day!

Happy Fathers' Day to all who are fathers! Today we had a normal service but afterwards we gave gifts to the dads at our church. They took a couple of pictures and then we prepared for lunch. Lunch was nice. We didn't have choir practice or Vietnamese lessons today (for the kids, since we grew up in America learning English. We need to know our parents' language, too.) All in all, we had a good time at church.

Continuing in Service

Today, I still do what I've been doing. The hardest part of all of it is probably leading the kids' choir. Those kids like to sing, play, and eat candy. What a group! They are, in spite of their energy, are very sweet. Sometimes they can be mad over something that happened, but with my assistant, who leads the preteens'/teens' choir, she can help me keep them under control. It's tough but it's for God.

A Beginning Servant

I grew up in a Christian environment. My dad is a pastor. I was little when I moved here to Texas. I went to one church, and now my dad started a new church, which is in a room at a bigger American church. The American congregation is very nice to us, the Vietnamese congregation. I got baptized about 1 and a 1/2 years ago. As the pastor's daughter, I help lead sing for the 40 (give or take) people at the church. I also lead the children's choir and I am also part of the older choir (preteens and teens).
