Long Time, No Type

Sorry about the really long period of no posts...
Anyway, our choir just performed on 9/15. They sang In Christ Alone. It's a really nice song to try to sing with a choir. We're already planning for our Christmas and Thanksgiving performances. I's really important to start practicing early, in order to perfect you songs. It's a bit hard to practice for 2 weeks, then sing it... :)

A Beginning Servant

I grew up in a Christian environment. My dad is a pastor. I was little when I moved here to Texas. I went to one church, and now my dad started a new church, which is in a room at a bigger American church. The American congregation is very nice to us, the Vietnamese congregation. I got baptized about 1 and a 1/2 years ago. As the pastor's daughter, I help lead sing for the 40 (give or take) people at the church. I also lead the children's choir and I am also part of the older choir (preteens and teens).

Helping the Community Through the Church

Today, I helped at my church's Crossroads. It's a building at our church that is full of food and clothes, and a bit of home things (like decorations such as vases). Our church collects clothes and canned food for the needy. We give it to the needy for free. I think it's a great way how to help out the community in Sachse, TX (the city my church is located). My little brother's Sunday school teacher invited us to help out. We sorted out food and clothes, moved boxes and hung up clothes. It was a nice feeling. I really want to come on Saturday morning so I can help give the things away, instead of just sorting, though either one is helping others.
